Question about 3G laptop cards

Morning all,

Quick question about the above. A friend of mine has one and it works well in a 3G area.

All around her house a 3G signal can be received. Problem is, here house, actually the walls, are incredibly thick and feck all signal of any kind passes thru.

Does anyone know of an aerial that can be installed outside and that we can run to a position inside the house?

Thanks,

mj

Don't know if this is compatible in Ireland but it might be what you need. Has a cable though even if it's not exactly what you are looking for

Hmm I think that might work.

Is it an external datacard or an internal one like the new dell laptops?

It is one of the Vodafone 3G cards as shown on the Expansys site and the aerial that comes with it looks the same, except has a shorter lead.

Me thinks that might just work, many thanks.

You could also try and look for an extension to your existing one too.
I can't remember the type of connector off the top of my head now tbh.

Make sure you keep the packaging in case it doesn't work or isn't what you need, check the compatibility etc and the "return of goods purchased" terms and conditions

Might be best to go into a Vodafone store and see what they say about it.
