30 Days of Night

A film that shows it all.

..and thats what I'm going to say here.

What starts out as a typical film showing residents of an Alaskan town getting prepared before the darkness, we follow a group of people who apparently stay behind. Famous faces of sheriff Eben Oleson (Josh Hartnett) and Stella Oleson (Melissa George) appear on screen and this is where the action starts.
If you have a weak stomach you may want to turn your head away for a few moments during this film, as it has it all. But thats where I reckon the film trys too hard and forgets the whole idea of the film.
So yeah, a bunch of vicious vampire take siege on a snowy city only for its few inhabitants left by to take refuge wherever they can and bear it out in the hope not to get eaten.
Although I was somewhat impressed with the gore element somewhat, the plot I was not however.
Personally its one of those films that you will watch once and never again. OK maybe again to scare your guests at Halloween.

Personally I'll give this two ratings

Gore 10/10
Plot 4/10
